Imphal August 3: South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) wishes the people of this State for a prosperous, peaceful and pragmatic future on the eve of it’s foundation day which falls on the . In a press release signed by Koijam Brojen, President, the need for revival and preservation of the age old customs and traditions has been emphasized, also mentioning the deteriorating social structure that is threatening to dilute and demean our traditional values and ethics which raises the fear of our cultural and social identity being erased by our own careless and callous attitudes.The release further laments the decline in the attachment and appreciation of the public, especially the younger generations, towards the traditions and customs that has withstood the test of time for so long and mentioned the importance of protecting, reviving and spreading awareness regarding the same. The organization also remembers those from the State who have settled down outside, appealing to the people to renew their appreciation of our traditional customs and rituals and to follow them in the right manner and spirit while requesting everyone to make suggestions and constructive ideas to make the ongoing endeavor a success.
